About the Game

Control is a finite, draw less territory game based on SNORT. This game is also relevant to Glass Bead, Stigmergy and Tumpletore (a variant of Tumbleweed).

Components

Hex grid regular hexagonal board of any size (Size 5 or larger) Sufficient quantity of white and black pieces (A majority of the number of hexes is sufficient)

Terminology Control The player responsible for the majority of the colors of the pieces placed in hexes adjacent to a given hex controls that hex (If there is a tie, neither player controls the hex).

Setup Each player decides which color he/she is responsible for. The game begins with the board empty.

Gameplay First, the white player places a piece of his/her color in one of the hexes bordering the perimeter of the board. The next black player and onward take turns. On his or her turn, the player makes one of the following two types of move. Passing is not allowed.

Place a piece of your color in an empty hex not controlled by the opponent. Remove a piece of the opponent's color in a hex controlled by you.

Game End The player with no legal move in his or her turn loses the game.

If both players are experienced in the game, the game may be terminated by mutual agreement. In that case, count the number of empty hexes under your control and thereby determine the player who loses.
