In the game, the players begin by placing the components of a wooden pinball machine. The device does not have paddles to keep the ball in play. Instead, the game more closely resembles a pachinko machine, which are very popular in Japan. The ball falls freely after it is fired.

The flat area of the board has regular pinholes, and players start by placing pegs and barriers as they wish. Then they take turns firing a ball into the area.
