About the Game
Countryball Cards is a chaotic strategy card game where players draft a small squad of meme-inspired countryball characters and battle to be the last side standing. It supports 1v1 duels and 2v2 team play, with each round driven by a mix of resource management, ability combos, and dice-based outcomes.
At the start of the game, each player drafts three countryballs from a pool of 20 base characters (30 in the Extended Edition). Resource dice are rolled to set up an open market where players can buy and sell resources on their turns. Each player begins with 10 coins and earns 5 more at the start of every subsequent turn, spending them to acquire resources, fund Project cards, and pay the costs of countryball abilities. Every countryball has its own ability with a unique cost and effect, and many require a dice roll to succeed (meet or beat the target number). Some hit hard, others defend, heal, sabotage opponents, or twist the rules of the market. Each countryball has 3 hit points, damage accumulates across turns, and the game ends when one side eliminates all of the opposing countryballs. With over 40 distinct abilities across the base set and additional content in the Extended Edition, no two games play out the same way. The countryball theme leans into the internet meme culture the characters come from, and the resource-and-combat loop rewards both careful setup and opportunistic combos.
Contents Base Edition: 20 countryball cards, 60 resource cards, 14 project cards, 50 coin tokens, 20 damage tokens, 5 dice (4 resource, 1 combat). Extended Edition adds 10 countryball cards and 5 project cards.
