Crownsi is a minimalist abstract strategy game of forced captures and traps for two players. Played on a 5x5 board with seventeen neutral pieces and a single crown, it twists traditional board game logic through misère play. In Crownsi, capturing pieces is a path to defeat.
On your turn, you must perform two actions in order: move and throw. First, you move the crowned piece, completing mandatory jumps to capture neighboring pieces or a single step if no jumps are available. After moving, you must throw the crown to a non-adjacent piece in your line of sight. This passes the burden of the next move to your opponent.
Every captured piece is a penalty point. The first person to force their opponent to accumulate seven penalty points or run out of valid moves wins the game.
