About the Game

Three powerful Daimyo aspire to the Shogunate, while countless ronin, former warriors who have lost their lords, seek a new cause to serve.

In Daimyo, 2–4 players lead groups of ronin, recruiting warriors from different clans and deciding which Daimyo to support in their rise to power.

On each turn, players use cards from their personal decks to activate ronin markers on a shared action rondel. These markers move between actions to recruit or expel ronin, gain resources, play additional cards, and support one of the three Daimyo. Some actions trigger further marker activations, allowing players to build chains of actions within a single turn.

Supporting a Daimyo sends ronin to their province while advancing that Daimyo along the central track. As the game progresses, players compete to influence the relative positions of the three Daimyo, whose final ranks determine the value of the support each player has given them.

Players score Honor both from the Daimyo they supported and from sets of ronin cards matching the warriors gathered in each Daimyo’s province. The player with the most Honor at the end of the game wins.
