The game's theme is based on the GameBoy Version of Nintendo's "Super Mario Land" from 1989.

Story Princess Daisy of Sarasaland was kidnapped by the monster Tatanga. Super Mario and Luigi travel through the kingdoms of Birabuto, Muda and Easton to reach the kingdom of Tschai where the princess is held. The first player who reaches Tschai and beats the evil Tatanga and the other players frees the princess and wins the game.

Flow of Play Each player has two figures (Mario and Luigi). Players roll a die to determine how far one of their figures can move. The board has some special places like traps and questionmarks. Traps cast the figure some spaces back. Questionmarks let the player draw one of the cards. On these player may find enemies which can be fought by a die roll or special items which let them avoid traps or enemies. The player who reaches the final place with both figures has to defeat the last enemy and the other players by rolling the dice.
