About the Game

The Pott – this game is named after the Ruhr area (Germany).

The term stands for a region of land that is lower than its surroundings, based on the interior of a pot, which is also colloquially known as a pot.

With regard to the Ruhr area, the region was an immigration area, a melting pot, for over 200 years. The coal pot, a bucket for transporting coal, is also used to explain the name.

But one thing is certain: everything revolves around mining and no other region in Germany is as typical, as diverse and as colorful as the Ruhr area.

Let's do a quick brainstorming session. What comes to mind? Mines, allotment gardens, dovecotes, drinking halls, mixed bags, football, bratwurst, beer, Grönemeyer, Schimanski, Opel Manta, culture and multiculturalism. Who can add more terms?

Of course, there are also many tensions and problems: the change in the pot is far from complete. But no matter which corner you come from, the Pott is home.

What could be better than winning the pot playfully in a friendly atmosphere? The main thing here is not to leave the playing field as the richest, but rather to have fun!

Let's quickly go to the drinking hall and get a mixed bag for a snack. Tackle? A tacken was the ten pfennig piece and in return you got sweet treats. Don't you know anything anymore? The grandparents can certainly tell a few anecdotes.

The game is reminiscent of Monopoly. However, the cards to be purchased do not have a fixed price but must be purchased using a bidding mechanism. There is also the possibility of shortening half the game board using a special route that runs across the board (the A40 motorway).

Mining history, traditions, people born on coal and with steel in their veins! Who invests with the right instinct and relies on the fastest carrier pigeon? Good luck!
