About the Game

The Hope Diamond has just been stolen! But with so many suspects and briefcases being passed around, who is the REAL THIEF and which briefcase holds the diamond? Can the detectives capture the REAL THIEF before he escapes?

Diamond Heist is a cat-and-mouse deduction game for 2 players that plays in 40-60 minutes, with each player playing one game as the thief and one as the detective.

As the Thief, you have just stolen the Hope Diamond and stashed it in one of several briefcases to confuse the detectives. You and your Accomplice are trying to escape with the Diamond, and have hired 5 actors (innocent Suspects) to help with your plan. Each turn, you'll play a card, which will allow you to move suspects and take actions such as toss briefcases, leap over obstacles, drop smoke bombs to slow down the detectives or slip through a hidden vent to appear on the other side of a wall.

The Detective’s goal is to recover the Diamond and catch the Thief and their Accomplice before they can escape with this priceless gem. Each turn, the detective will play a card, which will allow them to move in on the suspects and take actions like topple a display, block a door, and lay traps to slow down the suspects. If you catch a suspect, you'll get to open their briefcase and hopefully recover the diamond. Then, you can question the suspect to get more information to narrow down your search.

The game is played over 2 rounds. Once both the Thief and Accomplice have either escaped or been captured, you'll swap roles and play the 2nd round. The player who has the most points at the end will be the winner.
