About the Game

Raus aus der Mausefalle is a simple card placement game for children that features the main character of a popular German children's TV program, "Die Sendung mit der Maus" (The Program with the Mouse), which first aired in 1971.

Players start with five cards each and in each turn draw another card before it is required to play at least a single colored story card in proper order (from 1 to 5) in a common area. If this is not possible a die is rolled which allows depending on the value further card drawings and finally a card has to be discarded.

If a fixed number of complete stories are put on the common area the game is won. A story is characterized by a color and cards with values from 1 to 5.

There exists also joker cards which can be played instead of the proper color card. This joker can be obtained by replacing later with the card it replaces. Another card type, mouse traps, exist and require the player to skip his turn until a special side of the die is rolled within 3 attempts per round.

This game shares its designer with Mausefalle (1980) and re-implements it.
