About the Game

Duel Up is a thrilling two-player game that combines strategy, quick thinking, and a bit of luck, all on a vertical tower!

Components: Lasercut wooden tower with built-in scoring tracks. 40 two-sided wooden tiles, one side has numbers 0-9, the opposite side has letters A-Z (no Q). One bag to hold tiles.

Two Players, Two Roles that alternate each of at least two rounds.

Objective: Player 1: Strategically drops numbers (0-5) into the tower to ultimately add up to ten. Player 2: Strategically drops letters to ultimately form three-letter words.

Setup: Two players sit at a table facing each other. Place the tower between two players. Place the tiles in the bag. Decide who will start by dropping numbers and who will drop letters in the first round. Decode upon an even number of rounds to play, eg two, four, six.

Game Play: Play in turns. A player grabs a random tile from the bag. Aligns the tile such that the designated letter or number side faces the player; that side was determined at the start of this round. Drops their tile into one of the three columns in the tower.

End of the Round: The round is over when the tower is full.

Scoring: Each player scores their side, giving their opponent the opportunity to verify the results. Letter Scoring: Score one point for each word made in any direction. The word must have at least three letters. Number Scoring: Score one point for each group of at least three adjacent numbers that add up to ten. Record your words and number of sums on paper.

Words and sums can be found in any of eight directions (forwards, backwards, upwards, downwards, four diagonals).

Allow your opponent to verify the results. If your opponent discovers a missed word or sum, they receive an extra point (for each discovery).

Record your score on the built-in scoring track.

At the end of the round, empty the tiles into the bag. Players now alternate their targets: words versus sums.

Play at least two rounds to determine the ultimate winner with the highest overall score.

Watch as the numbers and letters stack up, creating a dynamic and ever-changing vertical game board.

Use your wits to outsmart your opponent and achieve your goals!
