About the Game

Nile 2500 BC is a family-oriented strategic archaeological race where 2–4 players compete to explore ancient pyramids along the Egyptian river. Starting from the Nile Delta, explorers must first secure a permit at the Cairo Embassy and manage a hidden hand of 7 resource tokens (Torches and Dynamite) to overcome the specific difficulty levels of each tomb.

Gameplay balances risk and resource management. Movement is dictated by die rolls, modified by the river's current: traveling North grants a +1 bonus, while heading South imposes a -1 penalty. Players must navigate these waters carefully to avoid crocodiles and hippos that destroy equipment, while deciding whether to spend time in Cairo perfecting their supplies or rushing to claim smaller pyramids before their rivals.

To explore a pyramid, players combine their Torches, Dynamite, and a die roll to beat the pyramid's level. Success grants a high-value Insignia Card, but a tie results in losing a resource, and a failure forces a total disaster—losing all tokens and retreating to Cairo to resupply. An exact roll is not required to land on a pyramid, allowing for faster tactical strikes.

The game ends once all pyramids on the board have been explored. Players tally the points on their collected Insignia Cards, and the archaeologist with the highest total prestige score is declared the winner. Balancing speed with preparation is the key to mastering the Nile.
