About the Game

Fill the Rows: Road Trip is a fast-paced roll-and-write for 2–5 players, built around four classic American road trip routes: the Pacific Coast Highway, Route 66, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the Gulf Coast. Each route runs in its own direction — some climbing from 2 up to 12, others counting down — and every player fills in all four routes on their own sheet at the same time.

On a turn, the active player (the Driver) rolls six dice: two neutral "Gas Money" dice and four colored "Bonus Miles" dice, one per route. Every player at the table, not just the Driver, may check off a single stop using the sum of the two Gas Money dice. The Driver gets a second, exclusive option: pairing one Bonus Miles die with a Gas Money die to check off an additional stop on that route. Stops must be filled in order along each route, and the final stop on any route can only be taken once at least four others on it are already checked — you have to commit to a route before you can finish it.

If the Driver can't make a valid move in either phase, they take a Detour penalty — or, once per game, ask for directions instead: a free re-roll of all the dice with no penalty attached. The game ends the moment two routes are completed by any player, or as soon as someone racks up three Detour penalties, so the pressure to commit to a route — and finish it before it locks out from under you — builds fast. Scoring is triangular, so each additional stop on a route is worth more than the last, with a bonus for whoever locks in a route first and a five-point cost for every Detour taken along the way.

Games run about fifteen minutes, whether it's two players trading the wheel or a full five-player table all racing to fill their own four routes before the trip ends.
