About the Game

Forte Arena is a tactical gladiator arena game where players compete for supremacy between rival gladiator schools. Over four intense rounds (“shows”), players place gladiators into the arena, resolve simultaneous directional attacks, claim rewards, and manage the risks of exposure in the central combat zones.

Each gladiator card features asymmetric strength values in four directions, creating a constantly shifting tactical puzzle. Gladiators attack immediately upon entering the arena, striking all adjacent opponents at once. Successful attacks earn denarii, while overwhelming victories may wound enemies—claiming trophies that can be converted into extra turns or endgame points.

The arena itself is a double-edged sword: central spaces grant valuable rewards, but leave gladiators dangerously exposed. Timing, positioning, and orientation are everything. Tactical action cards and optional wild beast encounters add further layers of depth for experienced players.

After four shows, the gladiator school with the most denarii is crowned champion.
