About the Game

GRADIOR is a two-player abstract strategy game played on a hexagonal board with four spaces per side. Each player controls twelve pieces, arranged in a pattern symmetric under 120-degree rotation.

On each turn, a player moves exactly one of their own pieces in a straight line along one of the six directions of the hex grid. The distance a piece must travel is determined by how many times it has already been moved: a piece that has never moved travels one space, and each subsequent move by that same piece must cover exactly one space more than its last move. Pieces may jump over any other piece, friend or foe, along the way, but must land on an empty space.

The first player to move a single piece for the fourth time wins the game immediately. A player with no legal move on their turn loses.
