About the Game

General Manager Football (GMF) is a game which allows the player to create fictional American-style professional football leagues, plays games, have playoffs, and then conduct off-season activities that may see each team improve in some areas, decline in other areas, or remain constant from last season.

Individual football games are played through the use of Scoring Cards. The player reveals a scoring card for each team per quarter, and then adds up the scores of each team, thereby determining a winner and a loser. Teams are rated for their offensive and defensive capabilities, and these ratings can either allow a team to play additional scoring cards or cancel opponents’ scoring cards. Additionally, each team is rated for their head coach. Head coaches have the ability to influence the game score through Key Coaching Moments (KCMs). Over the course of a season, great coaches will have more KCMs to use than good coaches, who will have more KCMs to use than poor coaches.

Each team is also rated for their Front Office, which represents their organizational strength, from general manager to the scouting department and other key personnel. The Front Office rating will impact the teams’ ability to improve in the offseason Draft & Free Agency period.
