About the Game

Garden Insects is a mini-expansion for Genotype: A Mendelian Genetics Game that adds Bug Tokens to the monastery garden.

During setup, Bug Tokens are placed on the face-up Pea Plant Cards in the Nursery and next to each Punnett Square alongside the usual Coin. When players draft Pea Plant Cards or take the Set Parent Genes / 1st Shift action, they may collect Bug Tokens as an additional benefit.

Players can spend pairs of matching bugs for helpful bonuses: Aphids let you draw Tool Cards, Beetles provide Coins, and Bees allow you to immediately Validate a Trait. Players may hold up to 3 Bug Tokens, so timing when to collect and spend them is part of the puzzle.

The promo includes Aphid, Beetle, and Bee tokens, along with player aids and rules for adding Garden Insects to the game.
