About the Game

Alarms blares. Missiles slam into the arm. The hull twists. The joints fail.
The targeting array blinks out.
Capacitors scream, the heat gauge surges.
Only the laser remains. One shot left.
It fires — silent, as only lasers are.
The beam cuts through the enemy cockpit. The enemy mech topples, silence for a moment.
All around, the conflict grinds on,
to the rhythm of the Heavy Metals.

Heavy Metals is a gritty, miniature-agnostic skirmish game of lo-fi Mechs, built on the rulesets of Forbidden Psalm. It is played on a board 2 feet x 2 feet board. Each player controls a Lance—a team of customizable Mechs. Games play out as short, tactical Engagements, which can be played competitively, cooperative, or solo. Engagement include instructions to place Terrain, Objectives, salvageable Wrecks, and Hostiles—enemies that follow a simple, automated behavior system to simulate tactical threats. Engagements can be played standalone for quick matches, or chained together into Campaigns.
