About the Game

In High & Low, a quick card game for 2-4 players, players will be playing cards numbered 1-5 to a 5x5 tableau. If they play into a row or column with, respectively, a higher or lower value than all other rows/columns, they must take a High or Low token. The goal of the game is to collect an equal number of high and low tokens.

Lowest score wins (most numerous token type minus less numerous), with a couple variants for tiebreakers in case there is a tie.

The challenge comes in anticipating opportunities to collect tokens on subsequent turns, so as not to get stuck late without good options. Thus it includes aspects of hand management and anticipating opponent play.

The game can be played with a couple standard card decks, removing 25 cards numbered 1-5 (5 of each), in addition to chips or other generic component to act as High and Low tokens. A full rules document is available in the game's file section here on Board Game Geek.
