About the Game

Conjure up stories where the familiars are as fluffy as they are fiendish. Hocus Pocus Hyperfocus is a passion project of two ADHDers years in the making. A game that expresses the absurdity and hilarity of our experiences with ADHD. One that evokes the time game designer, Allison, lost her phone and then later found it *inside* a fruit salad she’d prepared for a party that evening. Or the time when feverishly preparing for a meeting, Brandy lit her notes on fire with the candle she forgot she had on her desk.

The stories in Hocus Pocus Hyperfocus are structured using the Deck of Distractions—an oracle deck full of both the tasks that your witch needs to accomplish as well as all the ways that she could be distracted from these very tasks. She has limited energy to complete a seemingly limitless number of tasks. Both task switching and hyper-focusing will take their toll on her over the course of the day.

We wanted to create game systems that reflect some of the ways our brains work, and then let our friends and family play with all of the wild inspiration and intense frustration that comes with such a brain?. And of course, we wanted there to be magic.
