Virgil, Charon & Lucifer adds the final two Guardians to the core game, Charon and Lucifer, as well as Virgil and his own mini expansion, The Encounter.
It includes 3 miniatures, 2 large cards, and several new cardboard components: 1 Virgil’s Path, 1 Sloth tile, 1 River Jetty, and 9 Frozen Souls. It also includes a QR code linking to the rules in 10 languages.
• The Encounter: Centuries have made Virgil forgetful. He set out too late in search of Dante, and now he rushes to reach him before Dante loses himself in the depths.
Play the game as usual until Dante reaches the Sloth circle. Then, place Virgil on the final space of the path. From that moment on, whenever a player accuses a Sinner, they may either move Dante one step downward, as usual, or move Virgil one step upward and gain the reward of the space he reaches. The game ends when Dante and Virgil meet.
• Charon: The ferryman of the River Acheron does not listen to the pleas of the damned. Souls cross the river only when he allows it, following the order carefully set. Before his boat, rushing is pointless, and waiting is unavoidable.
Whenever you play Charon, place a Soul from either the supply or the Graveyard on the River Jetty. If you take it from the Graveyard, gain 1 Drachma. Souls on the River Jetty form a queue. Whenever a Soul must be moved from the Graveyard to Hell, the first Soul in this queue must enter Hell instead.
• Lucifer: Cast down from Heaven, Lucifer was not destroyed. His punishment was harsher: to remain still, forever watching the order he once sought to defy. If you offer him his favored feast, the Frozen Soul of a Traitor, he will use the last remnants of his power to help you bend the laws of Hell.
Whenever you play Lucifer, gain 1 Frozen Soul. Later, when you accuse a Sinner, after advancing on the corresponding Sin Track, you may return 1 Frozen Soul to the supply to gain the bonus of a different Sin Track.
Both Guardians were originally included in the Collector’s Edition of Inferno.
