About the Game

Insurgence Milan 1848 is a solitaire Historical wargame set during the Five Dyas of Milan, a rebellion which set off the Italian Unification. The game plays over the course of 5 days or rounds, divided into Daytime and Nighttime, further divided into steps like collecting supplies, issuing orders and battling. When issuing orders, the player and the Austrian troops will alternate. Player orders include fielding, moving rebels and building barricades, while the bot has an easy to run logic which always stays the same. Other notable features include the Provisional Government which can be founded by capturing tavern palace, hospital, which are the rebel’s hideout palaces and aid in healing wounded insurgents. Combat is resolved by dice rolling, coupled with mitigation mechanics such as outnumbering, which allows to alter a die result if there are more units than the opponent’s. To win, the player must capture Sforza Castle before the end of the fifth day.

The game comes with a built-in expansion called Liberty Desire, which adds features such as Gates, Milan Cathedral control and political mechanics regarding the rebels.
