About the Game

Kairos is a fast-paced historical strategy game where players compete to earn the most points by the end of the game. The game ends when any of the players reach one of the four victory conditions. Points are awarded for a variety of accomplishments during the game, including capturing capital cities, liberating allies, progressing through Eras, and more.

At the start of the game, players draft from the available civilizations and settle in a location on the map. From there, players expand their borders, engage in tactical battles, and grow their capital. Combat is resolved through dice rolls, influenced by terrain and unit types. Players will accumulate gold and access strategic resources to progress their civilization and recruit additional soldiers.

Throughout the game, many players will capture other players' capital cities. When this happens, the captured civilization will fight to regain control of the city, and the occupier will be rewarded for each turn they control the city. Other players may step in and neutralize the conflict. Capturing and liberating cities from other players is the primary path to victory in Kairos.

At the end of the game, the player with the most victory points wins, regardless of which player reached the victory condition that ended the game. Kairos has been carefully designed to play quickly and encourage replayability.
