About the Game
In Kuanto, players try to end the game with as few points as possible by avoiding picking up cards from the discard pile. During the game, transparent cards are placed in a shared discard pile, gradually creating an interwoven network of colored lines. Each new card must follow specific placement rules, depending on how the lines intersect and overlap.
On their turn, a player places a card in the discard pile, then draws a new card. A card cannot be placed if one of its colored lines directly overlaps another colored line already visible in the discard pile. If two lines intersect, they must be the same color. Cards with no intersecting lines are always valid. Instead of playing a card, a player may choose to take the discard pile and keep those cards before continuing their turn, which offers opportunities for tactical decision-making and risk management.
A special black cross-shaped card acts as a wild card and can be played at any time, even if the player has another valid move. When played, the current discard pile is set aside, a new discard pile is created, and the player replenishes their hand before play resumes. At the end of the game, the collected discard piles are tallied, and the player with the lowest total score wins the game.
