About the Game
Every hand tells a story, but some stories begin before the cards are even dealt. One player carefully distributes a deck into four mysterious piles while everyone else watches, searching for clues about what lies within. Some cards are visible, others remain hidden, and the size and arrangement of each pile may reveal more than the dealer intended. When the time comes to choose, everyone must trust their observations and hope they've picked the right hand.
Kubaru Te Miru Me (The Dealing Hand, the Watching Eye) is a four-player, must-follow trick-taking game in which one player constructs four uneven hands through a partially visible, deliberately controlled dealing process. Before play, the dealer distributes cards into four piles associated with different trick-winning targets, while the other players observe the distribution and later select their preferred hands. Some cards reveal their identities from both sides, allowing players to infer the contents of each pile, while others remain concealed. Players then compete in tricks using four suits and special trump cards, attempting to win exactly the number of tricks indicated by their chosen pile. Successful players score according to their position in the selection order, while unsuccessful players receive penalties influenced by their bidding error and the success of players who selected after them.
