About the Game

Kyran: Maître des Mystiques (Kyran: Master of the Mystics) is a trick-taking card game with compulsory bidding and bluffing for 3 to 6 players, inspired by the African Tarot (Whist 22). A game takes about 30 minutes.

In each round, every player announces the exact number of tricks they expect to win. The sum of all bids can never equal the number of tricks available, so at least one player is always wrong. A missed bid costs the player as many Life cards as the gap between the bid and the tricks actually won. Rounds are played with 7 cards down to 2 cards, followed by a final Mystic round played with 1 card placed on the forehead. Four Power cards (Seal of Destiny, Ancient Clairvoyance, Blessing of the Ancestors and Veil of the Void) add special effects.

The game ends when a player has no Life cards left. The player who has kept the most Life cards wins.

The game contains 36 Number cards (1 to 36), 1 Mystic card, 8 Power cards, 30 Life cards (1 to 5 stars, 5 per player) and 7 rules cards.
