About the Game
A new addition to the "La Bataille" series of Napoleonic battles, this game covers the dramatic 1813 Battle of Kulm. Following Napoleon's victory at Dresden, he ordered several columns to close in and try to capture the fleeing Allied armies. French General Vandamme commanded a corp full of conscripts and tried to "bag" the Allies around a series of villages, the largest being Kulm. But Vandamme ended up being swallowed by the retreating Prussian and Austrian troops and lost most of his corps, including being captured himself.
The defeat flipped the entire campaign and set up Napoleon's big loss later at Leipzig.
This intriguing battle is presented in the full "La Bataille" style, following the same production techniques as La Bataille de Vauchamps.
Time, map and unit scale, from the rules:
1.1.1 Each complete turn represents approximately 20 minutes of real time. 1.1.2 Each hex is approximately 100 meters across. 1.1.3 Each Increment point is equal to approximately 100 infantry men, 50 cavalry men (with mounts), or 4 artillery cannons.
IMPORTANT ERRATA (dated October 16, 2025): 13.7.2 (correction) When units advance into a vacated hex, they must maintain the same facing and formation (if multiple units in different facings and/or formations, only one must advance).
