About the Game
Each player takes on the role of a leader of a small kingdom, intent on becoming the premier ruler of the land.
Through strategy and chance, you must raise armies, battle your enemies, make alliances among the factions (and possibly each other), gather advisors, and seek out ancient artifacts to gain the gods' favor.
Your ultimate goal is the collection of victory points. Whoever has the most when the Conquest Stone is claimed and used wins the game.
You gain victory points by building and taking castles, guarding ancient standing stones, and finding advisors to curry the gods’ favor.
There are two ways to play a game of Lands of Conquest. You can play until the Conquest Stone shows up on the map through the random drawing of fate tokens, or you can decide the rough length of the game you want to play (we suggest at least 2-3 hours, but it could easily be 2-3 sessions if the players are willing), and set a timer, with the Conquest Stone arriving when the timer indicates.
Either way, the arrival of the Conquest Stone signals the beginning of Endgame.
ENDGAME
The ruler who captures the Conquest Stone and successfully returns it to their city can choose when the game ends by calling upon the gods and claiming the high throne. The stone itself is worth 7 Victory Points. Each turn it remains in your city, you gain an additional victory point, giving your opponents only a limited time to alter the outcome.
