The ancient Babylonians saw divinity in the stars and believed that the movements of the heavens influenced fate. Therefore, when the moon obscured the sun, rulers feared it was an omen of disaster. They declared that only a skilled astrologer who could decipher the will of the gods would be worthy to lead the people as king."

Latria Opus is a card game in which 3 to 6 players compete by playing tricks to gain points cards from three celestial body suits: Sun, Moon and Polaris. At each round a new reward card is added to the stack of each celestial body, and the dealer decides which body to play by using a card from the same suit. Then the rest of players must follow suit, play a Latria card, or play any card of they cannot follow. Although the player with the highest ranking card wins the trick and the corresponding reward cards, the player with the lowest rank will score the card just played from their hand, containing a different reward. Furthermore, if an Anomaly card happens to be drawn into a stack for a celestial body, it becomes eclipsed, and all rewards gained from that body count as negative points. After a number of tricks, the player with the higher number of points (discounting negatives) wins the game.

Latria Opus is a reimplementation of the original Latria game, keeping the same theme of ancient astrology but with renewed scoring rules and flow of gameplay. It also includes a set of tokens to mark the celestial bodies and their eclipses.
