While a standard session of Life and Beyond typically lasts between 2–4 hours, the game is intentionally designed to allow much longer ongoing sessions for players who choose to continue building their economy, expanding their assets, and evolving the world of the game.

Some playtest sessions have lasted well beyond 30 hours across multiple sittings.
