In a nutshell: LIFE (on Icarus) is a board game where players evolve as a species in a randomly generated, hyper-realistic stellar system based on our current understanding of planetary formation, exoplanet data, and the early evolution of complex life on Earth (roughly coinciding with the Cambrian period).

Winner is the most successful species in terms of thriving in the environment.

Note: Life on Icarus is based on the current scientific understanding of exoplanet research, the early evolution of complex life on Earth, and general knowledge about cosmic phenomena impacting life and evolution.
