About the Game

In Magic Tricks, players are rival magicians competing to put on the most dazzling show using clever card play, risky predictions, and a few hidden tricks up their sleeves.

Over the first three rounds, each player is dealt 9 cards and may secretly tuck up to 6 total cards up their sleeve, using those tucked cards to manipulate their bid die and/or the dominant die in the middle of the table as they try to win tricks and earn Applause points. Win exactly the number of tricks you predicted and you’ll earn a Standing Ovation worth 10 bonus points, but every card you tuck up your sleeve is saved for the grand finale in round four.

In the fourth and final round, there is no dominant die — just one last traditional trick-taking showdown using the cards you tucked away plus enough random cards to bring your hand back up to 9. Finale tricks are worth double Applause, and the magician with the most Applause after the final curtain takes the bow and wins the game.
