About the Game

Called Mister Mastro, alluding to master Bentivegna, according to legend the builder of the Ponte del Diavolo in Tolentino, the board game us entirely financed by Confesercenti of the province of Macerata, chaired by Roberto Cartuccia and created by three young professionals from Tolentino in the communication and graphics sector.

The authors are Silvia and Guido Raparo, a close-knit father and daughter who have always been grappling with colors and brushes, the journalists Sauro Ciarapica and Fabiola Caporalini and the graphic designer Andrea Raggi, who is also the creator of Mister Mastro and who coined its name.

The board game recalls the legend of the construction of the Devil's Bridge of Tolentino, as it was written and handed down by the Augustinian, Father Domenico Gentili. The story tells of the providential and miraculous intervention of Saint Nicholas, who, with a stratagem, mocked the devil who wanted to seize the first soul that passed over the bridge. The game also reconstructs the history of Tolentino in 1200 and the life of Father Nicholas.

The game is produced on the occasion of the seventh centenary of the death of the saint, a native of Sant'Angelo in Pontano, but who always lived in Tolentino. The anniversary will fall on September 10, but Mister Mastro will be on sale from the middle of this summer. The box contains, included in the purchase price, a mini guide, with all the synthetic but essential information about Tolentino. Mister Mastro was created with the consent of the Augustinian Community.

Confesercenti intends to promote the territory, especially at a national level, given that, presumably, Mister Mastro will be able to constitute a souvenir for pilgrims, tourists and visitors. The game is created in collaboration with the Mountain Community of Monti Azzurri of San Ginesio, of which San Nicola is the patron saint and whose territory has deep ties with the figure of the saint, who was born and lived in the current district territory. San Ginesio was the center where most of the canonization process of the saint took place.
