About the Game
Mountain Bike Downhill is a mountain bike racing micro-game that uses only 9 cards and a handful of dice and tokens.
Bikers have to manage their exhaustion levels as they pedal downhill, all while watching what their opponents are doing. This all happens through a simultaneous bidding mechanic that sees players spending their biker's Exhaustion levels in order to get the best Speed Dice and go faster.
To recover from accumulated Exhaustion levels, players can Rest. Clever timing of the Rest action is key to victory as bikers can coast downhill without pedaling, but lose your energy in an uphill stretch and you'll be in trouble! Like in a real bike rally, it's not simply sheer effort that wins the race, but most intelligent use of energy!
Mountain Bike Downhill was first designed as an entry to the 2020 9 Card Game Print and Play Design Contest.
