Game Details

A pirate themed social deduction game where a crew of pirates are trying to deduce who amongst them have succumbed to the evil skeleton curse. Each player serves a different role, randomly assigned from a set tailored by a game master at the start of the game, granting them abilities and their allegiance. Every role on the crew is displayed in the Crew Log at the center of the playspace for all to see, with additional decoy roles added for each skeleton in the game. What player is what role is up to the group to figure out amongst themselves. Every player is also granted a life token in front of them, symbolizing one of the game's seats, and if that player is still alive. The game is guided by the game master, who ferries the players through the day and night cycle of the game and builds a narrative for the players. During the day, the players will get up and move around to have private conversations amongst themselves or change seats with one another. Where and who they end up sitting next to might play into several of the roles in the game. As a group they can discuss and debate potential leads, share their alibi and attempt to claim a role in the Crew Log, and finally nominate and vote on who they suspect to be one of the evil skeletons. The player who receives more than half; and the most votes will be marked for execution at the end of the day. Moving into the still tides of night time, all players cover their eyes and fall asleep. The players are then silently woken up by the Game Master in the night order to act out their role abilities; along with the skeletons, who choose a target to eliminate that night. As the sun rises in the sky and the players are woken up to a new daytime, the game master announces the deaths of the night, and flips over their life tokens. All dead players are very much still in the game, still being able to converse and vote with the group, but not use their abilities, nominate for execution, or move from their seat. And so the cycle continues, until the skeletons match the number of alive pirates left in the game, or the pirates successfully rid their crew of the skeleton curse by the means of execution. Either the skeletons, or the pirates win. There is an extra hurdle for both teams, which are any of the many third party solo sloopers the game master may introduce; all with their own goals and winning conditions. Good luck, Pirates! -description from designer
