About the Game

November 1872. The merchant brigantine Mary Celeste departed New York bound for Genoa, Italy. A month later, the ship was discovered adrift near the Azores by the Dei Gratia. The cargo was largely intact. The crew's belongings remained on board. Yet not a single soul could be found.

What happened?

For more than 150 years, historians, journalists, novelists, and conspiracy theorists have proposed countless explanations, but the truth has never been conclusively proven.

In Mystery: The Mary Celeste, you are not searching for the truth, you are competing to create the explanation that history will remember. Will your explanation convince the public? Will your story dominate the newspapers? Will future generations accept your version of events as fact?
