From the publisher's website:

After the Gloaming and the corruption of their King, the Huranii became frenzied tools of the Darkness. With the ritual sacrifice of their tail, they claim complete servitude to the Rat King. Tailless are quick but cowardly, preferring to strike the least threatening and weakest targets until they can swarm over their stronger enemies.
