About the Game

The players position their playing pieces on the corresponding corners of the game board. The player who rolls the highest number goes first.

If a player lands on a space numbered 1-12 that is currently unoccupied, they receive a rental agreement for that space from the market office and must purchase the stall for that number and five units of the corresponding item for 5 DM. The item is depicted on five small cards, each showing the corresponding stall number. The player places these five cards in front of them next to their rental agreement.

If a player lands on a space already rented by another player, they must purchase one of the five items for 2 DM. The special "Beautiful Fountain" space grants the player a 2 DM subsidy from the market office. The special space, "Frauenkirche" (Church of Our Lady), means that the player donates 2 DM towards the purchase of Christmas gifts for orphans. If a player has sold all 5 items from one of their stalls, the stall is closed (returned to the market office), and they receive a 2 DM bonus from the market office for good sales performance.

There are two ways to end the game:

A certain amount of time is agreed upon, and then the scores are tallied. If a player becomes insolvent before the end of this time, they are eliminated. The game continues until one player becomes insolvent; then the scores are tallied.

Score: The money retains its value. Each item purchased by another player is valued at 1 DM, as is each unsold item from a player's own stall. The player with the most capital after this settlement wins.
