About the Game
Old Biddies is a cat themed bidding game. It's not important to be an old woman, or to even like cats. You just need to win.
The Aha Moment - Vizzini would be proud.
You are playing Old Biddies and a lot of cats come by. You want those cats so you bid your highest card. But wait, aren't the other people going to bid their highest card too? If you bid your lowest card and let everyone else fight over the cats, you will have the advantage on the next bids until you spend your highest card. But everyone knows that, and they may bid low also. Perhaps you should play a middling card and beat their low cards? Or just put out a Porchlight and wait to see what they bid? Ah heck, just make it rain!
Old Biddies is a very simple mechanic with a few power cards thrown in to make it interesting. Additionally, if you win the most days in a round, you earn a round bonus so even small numbers of cats can have an impact. And lastly, he who controls the Catnip bag, controls the ties. No matter who ties, the player with the Catnip bag decides who wins.
