About the Game

In Orphan of Plight, you take the role of a teenager without family, shortly before the fall of modern civilization due to a global famine. Orphan of Plight is a event-driven game. During the course of a playthrough, you'll resolve 12 event cards, each with choices to make. Most of them will present you with moral dilemmas: Will you help people who - just like you - are trying to survive? Or will you take advantage of their condition?

You win by resolving all event cards, signifying your arrival at the Orphanage.

Your character may suffer from hunger or wounds, things which have become usual after the fall, however, there's a third condition you'll encounter: Despair. You suffer despair by taking regrettable actions, however in the same way you can feel a little better by doing the right things.

You'll have to manage 2 resources: Food and Bullets. Your character must consume 1 food after resolving a card, while bullets can be used if things go awry... or for your personal gain.

Some cards may also allow you to gain upgrades: items or equipment which will aid in your journey.

Orphan of Plight has a small footprint, is quick to play (2-3 minutes) and can be taken anywhere, consisting of just 32 cards and 4 markers.

With its 24 Journey Cards, your experience will always be different. Additionally, you may also play using 16 cards instead of the usual 12 for a harder game.
