About the Game

Placing Orders is a climbing-shedding game for exactly three players, where each player can "place an order" for more cards at the start of the hand, but be careful, because they may be a liability instead of a benefit...

Placing Orders is played with a deck of 52 playing cards. Each hand, the three players are dealt 12 cards. Players look at their hands and then, on the count of three, all simultaneously reveal from 0 to 5 fingers on their hand. Players take as many extra cards into their hand as fingers shown.

Whichever player took the fewest cards starts the first climb. They can play an valid meld, and other players must either pass or play a meld of the same type but higher rank. Or, they can play a bomb if they have one. Play continues in this fashion, with players trying to be the first to shed all their cards, and scoring points based on how many cards remain in the other players' hands.
