About the Game

Quadranimals is a two-player abstract strategy game that emphasizes rotational motion and careful pattern arrangement, taking inspiration from Pai Sho. In Quadranimals, players place tiles representing dragons, bears, and elephants onto the starting diamonds then move them into play across the board. Pieces move by rotating along the perimeters of differently sized squares, with each animal moving differently. Pieces will often drag along other pieces with them as they move, giving a scintillating challenge to players thinking several moves ahead. Players compete to construct a "winning rectangle," an arrangement in which four of the player's pieces form the corners of a rectangle, with at least one of each animal present in the corners, and with the central diamond on the board contained inside the rectangle. The games are quick, tactical, and elegant. It is easy to learn with deep strategy to unpack.
