First the apple pieces are put together, then the colored disks are placed in the recesses randomly. The colors are the same as the ones on the die. When playing, the color on the die dictates where to go. Each player has their own caterpillar family that they want to move to the apple core. If the joker is rolled, a color can be chosen to move to; rolling the caterpillar means one caterpillar can be taken off the gameboard.

Has your 7th caterpillar arrived at the core? After that, the game is over. The player who has brought all of their own 7 caterpillars to the finish wins.

There can also be multiple winners! All the other players count their caterpillars that made it to the finish. Who has the most well-fed caterpillars?
