Reel Rivals 2025

Reel Rivals is a card game in which players compete by using cards and classic movie tropes. Bring extra fun to new films, old favorites, B-movies, and "so bad they're good" movies!

The game revolves around a core game component called Trope cards. They will provide movie tropes and reward players with points when players identify those tropes occurring in the film. There are two different types of Trope cards, Common and Genre.

Common cards will provide tropes that can be found in any genre. As a result, they will be used first to build movie decks. Games can be played with just these cards, but it is suggested to watch movies that are compatible with [1] or more of the other Genre cards.

Genre cards will have tropes that are tailored to certain genres. These are used to provide the best selection of cards for the movie. Additionally, adding Genre decks to the movie deck will allow for a greater number of players.

Using the Common cards alone will allow for games up to [5] players, and each Genre deck added will allow for an additional [2] players. However, there are multiple ways to play (Trope Hunt and Trope Bingo), so see the free digital rules for more details.
