About the Game

Reign and Ruin is a medieval strategy game played on any flat surface using brick-built miniature pieces. No board, no proprietary components — just the figures you already own, two standard six-sided dice, and a ruler. The rules are deliberately flexible: no two players need the same collection.

Six factions compete for gold, territory, and glory. The Crown fortifies its castles and taxes the realm. The Wolf Pack raids, extorts, and commands a pack of trained wolves. Robin Hood's Outlaws steal, hide among villagers, and protect the poor. The Village controls the economy and holds the Sword in the Stone at its marketplace. The Arcane wield a Witch's spells and a Wizard's enchantments. The Wandering Monk negotiates, heals prisoners, and is the only character who can permanently banish the two Ghost pieces that roam the board.

The game blends four mechanics: Monopoly-style territorial income from a central bank, Chess-inspired movement measured in centimetres with two dice and a ruler, Top Trumps combat statistics for every piece, and Dungeons and Dragons faction quests and special character abilities. Advanced systems include castle wall climbing and siege weapons, prisoner escort and mid-transit rescue, water terrain and boats, a neutral Black Knight mercenary available for hire with two horse-drawn carriages, and a Sword in the Stone that any faction can attempt to draw.

Four win conditions: accumulate 50 Crowns (Wealth Mode), be the last faction standing (Military Mode), control three structures simultaneously (Dominion Mode), or complete your faction's three unique quests (Quest Mode). Compatible with any medieval brick-built miniature collection.
