About the Game

In Reino de Ambar (Kingdom of Amber), players assume the roles of heads of influential families, politically and militarily, in the kingdom. In the shadows, players compete for prosperity and reputation. As head of the family, each player tries, through the skillful use of his seven cards Action, increase the power, influence and prestige of his family, avoiding in turn be destroyed by barbarian hordes who claim ravage the kingdom.

When you play an action card, you can add influence in places where influential people in the kingdom. So, for example, when you choose to increase its influence on the Market, Gold increases its access; or when providing care to the Castle, receives more influence; or when visiting the wicked witch who lives in the Cave removes a marker of influence of one of his opponents.

Each player along just seven rounds, following his own path, make its own choices with action cards from his hand to try to gain prestige.

In each round the players have also should try to solve two of the most serious problems plaguing the Kingdom. Whenever a problem is resolved their savior can enhance their prestige or position, use the special Confident or hire the services of places or personalities. In contrast, if the problems that appear in each round to win the barbarians are resolved. Rarely, the best choice is obvious, but often not be. A good player will find the right moments to make the best use of their cards and solve problems.

At the end of the game, the player with the most accumulated prestige is the winner.
