From the book: Long ago, this world knew justice, knew peace. That time has long passed. The War of Light and Shadow roiled in the heavens and here upon our lands. The gods and their champions fought and brought only wreckage. In the end, the gods of light were defeated, cast into the endless void, never to return. All that remained were the gods of shadow.
