About the Game

In Roshi, you will place, slide, and push pieces on the board in order to be the first to build a roshi - a 5-in-a-row that includes the roshi stone. The first player to create a roshi wins the game.

On a player’s turn, complete up to two different actions: place a piece, push an opponent's piece, or slide a piece. The actions can be completed in any order.

Place one of your game pieces on any empty space. Push one piece with one of your own. You can only push a piece in a straight line horizontally or vertically, and it can only be pushed one space. You may push your own piece, your opponent’s piece, or the roshi stone. Slide one of your pieces by moving it from one space to another. A piece can slide freely around the board through as many spaces as possible.

The roshi stone can be pushed one space, but it can never be pushed outside the yellow roshi zone. REMEMBER, you are only able to push one piece, and this includes the roshi stone. The first player to create a roshi - a 5-in-a-row that includes the roshi stone - wins the game. The roshi can be vertical, horizontal, or diagonal.
