Sevens: A Domino Fishing Game 2024

Sevens is fishing game (such as Scopa) that is heavily based on the Spanish classic Escoba.

The game is played with a standard set of double-nine dominoes, with the 8s and 9s removed, and can be played from 2 to 4 players.

The game is played through several rounds in which the dealer deals 2 tiles to each player, and then 2 to 4 tiles to the middle of the table face-up.

On their turn, players play a single tile from their hand, trying to make the total pips on the played tile, together with any one set of tiles on the table, add up to 20. If it does, they capture those tiles. For example: If the table tiles are 2-3, 4-6, and 1-0, and you play the 0-5, you capture the 2-3, 4-6, and 0-5 as the total of all pips on the tiles is 20.

If a player captures all the tiles on the table, it is called a feje and is worth one extra point.

After all tiles are played, the dealer deals another 3 tiles to each player and another round is played. Rounds are played until there are no dominoes left in the stock. At that time, the player who "won" tiles last, "wins" the remaining cards on the table and scores are calculated.

Points are awarded:

1 point for each "Feje" 1 point for the player who won the most tiles 1 point for the player with most tiles that have a 7 on them. (1-7, 2-7, etc.) 1 point for the player who won the Belle Siete, which is the 0-7. 1 point for the player with the most Nikos; dominoes which sum to 7 (1-6, 3-4, etc.) In case of tie nobody scores the point.

Special event: if, when the dealer places the initial dominoes on the table, they add up 20, the dealer "wins" all of them and scores a "Feje."

The first player or team to reach 11 points at the end of a hand wins.
