About the Game

Shakespeare: The Card Game is a 2 player card game in which players use 52 different characters from across Shakespeare’s plays to race to one of three possible win conditions: Comedy, Tragedy, or History. The games uses an 'I cut, I choose, you play' drafting system in which on player chooses a row of three cards keeping two and passing one, then their opponents has the chance to play first. Tragedy cards all have triggers that will cause them to die - if you kill four of your tragic characters first you win. History cards are played to one of the five lands in a battle for control - if you control 4 lands at once you win. Comedy cards are played once you find both halves of the famous sets of lovers - if you pair 4 couples you win. There are also chaos cards that help (or hinder) the other win condition, with characters like Puck, Bottom, Touchstone, Falstaff and the Witches using mischief and magic to impact the game.

The game is designed with theme first, with each card tied to it's play both visually and mechanically. However, you don’t need to know the plays to enjoy the game.
