Space Flight

Subtitled "Game of Blends", Space Flight is an educational game intended to give young children experience with reading/phonics.

The movement track on the board has pictures of various common items (clock, grapes, trap, spider, etc.), with the first two letters underlined. Players spin the spinner and move ahead the indicated number of spaces, whereupon they must read the word printed on the space and then say another word that uses the same blend. For example, a player landing on 'grapes' would read the word and then come up with another word starting with 'gr', such as group or grade. If they fail to come up with a new word then they are forced to move back one space.

There are also special Astronaut spaces that require the drawing of an Astronaut card. Cards direct a player to move either forward or backward a few spaces.

Winner is the first player to the end of the track.

Although no year is listed anywhere on the game, it appears to be from the 1960's.
